New psychometric test receives positive BPS test review
13 July 2005
The British Psychological Society (BPS) has reviewed cdaq, the psychometric test developed by management consultancy cda, and awarded it four-star ratings in four of the six key elements, a higher than average categorisation for a new test.
The BPS review psychometric tests to provide guidance to users on both the strengths and weaknesses of instruments, and advice as to when and how an instrument is best used. Tests are reviewed against set criteria using a five-star rating scale, with three stars being the minimum acceptable level for the forthcoming BPS registration.
cdaq was launched on the market in the autumn of 2004 and this BPS review represents its first official evaluation. In addition to receiving four-star ratings in four of the six key elements, including Quality of Materials and Reliability, cdaq is described as well researched and developed, and with reliability that is well supported with good validity demonstrated across a range of groups.
Caroline Dunk, principal of cda, states:
“cda are delighted with the outcome of the review, as this is a real achievement for such a new tool. In many ways it is the culmination of the 5 years research and development that lies behind cdaq.”
A copy of the review will be available shortly on the Psychological Testing Centre website
